LEARNING YOUR LESSON'S!
All students no matter what the
course, will find that at some point or another they are going to have
to actually do some work! Those who don't may think they're having a great
time but are pretty certain to fail, it is at this time they will experience
some extremely complex emotions including:
FEAR - Nobody wants to be a failure, especially when your parents have funded what can turn out to be an extremely expensive failure and are going to be less than impressed when you explain quite why you left revising for any exams until 2 am the night before! GUILT - Once again thoughts of partying instead of studying begin to fade and are replaced with the idea that maybe you ought to know where your seminars were held by the time you reach the May exams! HATRED - for all those people who passed and wouldn't let you copy their course work's. Never mind the fact the only time you contacted them was to ask for help and that when they do the same your to busy getting drunk at the union to listen!
WELL I HAVE ONE THING TO SAY..................... GET A LIFE! GET A
2. Try to make friends with as many of your classmates as possible you are probably all going to have problems over the next few years together and the more people you help the more people will want to help you!1. Just enjoy yourself during your first semester ? this is the best time to make friends, and the more the better because they may come and go but some will be there for good.
3. Male or
female take the free condoms when they are offered ? there is a
lot of sex over the first year
(even the shy ugly people can get laid at uni?!) and safe sex is the only
choice
4. Be careful ! ? university may offer some freedom from your parents but if your trying new things don't get carried away, its not called the big bad world for nothing!
5. If you think you are going to need an overdraft take the biggest one on offer ? those free gifts may be tempting but aren't much consolation when you cant afford to buy bread.
6. Don't turn down anything your parents offer to do to help ? food parcels may seem a little childish but come in handy when you've spent your last tenner at the union.
7. Try to
attend all your seminars ? some may seem a waste of time but its
easy to fall behind without realizing and most universities set attendance
targets.
8. If you are going to miss a deadline tell your tutor, even the most miserable lecturer can be surprisingly understanding! And it doesn't hurt to show you care about your degree.
9. If your going to lie then make it convincing they've usually heard every story so its not what you say but how you say it.
10. Finally, you may have more responsibility now but, when you get stressed out don't forget you have friends and family waiting to help you.
